During PRG’s season opener, we donated a portion of the bout proceeds to the organization Be The Match!!
If you aren’t familiar with them, Be The Match conducts bone marrow drives and registry to help people with blood cancers, such as leukemia, and other diseases.
We are continuing the bone marrow registry online so if you didn’tt have a chance to register at our bout, please do so now. You never know, you could be a bone marrow match for someone in great need.
Raven Russki joined PRG in February, although she skated in last year’s bootcamp, sprained her MCL and has been NSO’ing ever since.
Favorite thing about derby: The opportunity to experience my mid-life crisis in a healthy, although absolutely crazy for my age, way. I love everything about derby, well except for the bumps and bruises.
Favorite thing about PRG: PRG is awesome! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and I’m so excited to be making so many new friends!
What some of Raven Russki’s league mates think about her:
“Melanie is super smart and dedicated”
“Melanie is such a jewel, we are very fortunate to have her. We could not do what we love without her.”
“Dedicated to derby.”
“He passion for this sport”
“She is very focused on her job, making sure that she ‘gets it right.’ Plus, she is a sweet-heart and great supporter of PRG!”
“Melanie always shows up with a smile on her face and does a great job at running the scoreboard.”
“Sweetest woman ever!”
“I’m glad she joined officially!”
“One word. AWESOME”
Our refs and NSOs do so much for our league. We love them for being so awesome! See how they make it happen at our next home bout at Redwood Roller Rink on May 10. Order your tickets here!
